With winter weather in the northeast once again making national headlines, we’re willing to wager that customers of our shipping services in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and other western locations are thanking their lucky stars that they don’t have to put up with the effect of blizzards on transportation and shipping.
But if you’re planning on sending shipping crates or moving boxes from such fair weather locales to the snow-crippled northeast, you should expect delays even if you can’t see the impacts of East Coast weather from your sun-drenched window. In fact, even if the snow is no longer making headlines by the time you read this, shipping centers are likely to have a backlog of packages and shipping crates waiting to reach their destinations.
Box Brothers works hard to alleviate this effect, and we benefit from having less congestion compared to major national competitors. But not everything is in our control, and for when wintertime delays do happen, we also work with you to make sure that any shipping crates and moving boxes that are headed east are suitable not only for the long journey but also for the possibility of being held up in cold warehouses and trucks, where poor quality packing supplies might have exposed your merchandise to punishing cold and winds.
